Briefly introduce why transformer windings use 1050 alloy aluminum strip

The aluminum strip for transformer winding is made of high-quality pure aluminum with high conductivity, flexibility and smooth surface. It is an ideal material for the production of dry-type transformers and a key raw material for transformer windings.

The designers of transformer manufacturers usually choose 1050, 1060, 1070 and 1350 grades, with the minimum aluminum content of 95%, but generally above 99.6%-99.7%. Aluminum foil is mainly used as a conductive material for high and low voltage winding dry-type transformers. Since the cost of aluminum transformers is often lower than that of copper transformers, aluminum strip is the most popular transformer material.

Dry-type transformer

Aluminum strip is made by hot or cold rolling on industrial rolling mills. The rolling process involves gradually reducing the thickness of the material through successive passes between two rolls. There are many configurations of roller mills. 2Hi Roll Mill 2Hi Roll Mill uses two work rolls; 4Hi uses four rolls, two smaller work rolls and two larger spare rolls. Rolled aluminum foil and aluminum sheet can be found in most industrial and consumer products.
